2 Yearly Inspection of John Deere engines cooling system is IMPORTANT.

With the arrival of the John Deere type fire pump engine a few years ago replacing the Iveco type engine, there are various periodic inspections required to the John Deere engine that wasn¹t necessary on the Iveco Engine.

John Deere Manufacturing recommend that the following is replaced and inspected; Coolant replaced Replace engine thermostat and gasket Change coolant hose (thermostat to header tank) Change coolant hose (Heat exchanger to Water pump) Remove and inspect water pump impeller and seal (impeller made from a composite material)

As pictured this water pump impeller is extremely thin and warped, engine when running was showing high water temperature. Carrying out this inspection saved the client the cost of a new engine.
